Last updated: September 2, 2026. This is an English translation of our Spanish privacy policy, which is the governing version.
At Zafrán we make food with real ingredients in plain sight. We want to be just as clear about your data: this page explains what information you give us when you use zafran.com.ar, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can ask us to delete it.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Pronipoti S.A. (Zafrán brand), tax ID (CUIT) 30-71396430-8, located at Alsina 1664, Villa Lynch (B1650), Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
For any privacy matter you can write to zafran@zafran.com.ar or call +54 11 4724-0543.
What data we collect and why
When you buy
We ask for your first and last name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address, and your national ID or tax ID number together with your tax status. We use them to prepare and ship your order, contact you if there is a delivery problem, and issue the invoice.
The ID and tax status are not our whim: the Argentine tax authority (AFIP) requires them for invoicing. We keep them for the period set by tax and accounting regulations.
When you pay
Payments are processed by Mercado Pago. Your card details are entered directly on their platform: we do not see or store them. From the transaction we only receive confirmation of whether the payment was approved or declined, the payment method and the amount.
When you subscribe or write to us
- Newsletter: your email, only if you give it to us on purpose. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Forms (contact, becoming a distributor, supplier or team member): the data you fill in, so we can reply.
- Surveys: after a purchase we may ask you a couple of short questions, for example whether you already knew Zafrán or how you found us. They are voluntary: if you do not want to answer, you do not have to. We never ask about your health, intolerances or diet.
- Product reviews: the name and comment you leave are published on the product page, visible to anyone.
- WhatsApp: if you use the button, the conversation takes place inside WhatsApp and is also governed by that platform’s policies.
When you browse
We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work (keeping your cart, your session and the site secure) and to understand how it is used. This includes your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and where you came from.
Measurement and advertising: who else sees your browsing
We prefer to name them:
- Google Analytics 4, to know which pages are used and how people arrive.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), a measurement pixel: it tells us whether an ad led to a visit or a purchase, and lets us show ads to people who already visited the site.
- Google Ads and Google Merchant Center, to measure campaigns and publish our catalog.
- Microsoft Clarity, heatmaps and anonymous session recordings: it records mouse movements, clicks and scrolling to find where browsing gets stuck. The tool masks what you type in form fields.
- emBlue, the platform we use to send our emails; it records whether an email was opened or clicked.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the site, such as the cart, may stop working properly.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data or give it to third parties so they can offer you their products. We only share it with those we need for your purchase to work:
- The carrier that delivers your order (name, address and phone number).
- Mercado Pago, to process the payment.
- Our management and invoicing system, and AFIP, as required by law.
- The hosting, email and measurement providers mentioned above.
- Public authorities, when a regulation or court order requires it.
Some of these providers are outside Argentina and may store information in other countries. In those cases the transfer takes place under their own data protection commitments.
How long we keep it
Purchase data is kept for as long as the commercial relationship lasts and afterwards for the period required by tax and accounting rules. Newsletter data, until you unsubscribe. Form data, for as long as needed to reply and keep a record of the request.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access the data we hold about you, correct it, update it or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to receive communications.
To do so, write to zafran@zafran.com.ar from your email address, or send a letter to Alsina 1664, Villa Lynch (B1650), Province of Buenos Aires. We answer access requests within 10 calendar days, and correction or deletion requests within 5 business days.
Please note that some data cannot be deleted even if you ask: data on invoices already issued, because the law requires us to keep it.
If you want us to delete everything
Send an email to zafran@zafran.com.ar with the subject “Eliminación de datos” (data deletion), from the address you used to buy or subscribe. We close your account, remove your email from our lists and delete the data we are not required to keep, and we confirm when it is done.
The data subject has the right to access their personal data free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is shown, as set out in article 14, subsection 3 of Law No. 25,326.
The AGENCIA DE ACCESO A LA INFORMACIÓN PÚBLICA (Agency for Access to Public Information), as the supervisory authority of Law No. 25,326, is empowered to handle complaints and claims filed by anyone whose rights are affected by non-compliance with personal data protection rules.
Minors
The store is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not request or seek data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us their data, write to us and we will remove it.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and has technical measures to protect information. No system is infallible, but if we detected an incident affecting your personal data, we would let you know.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything, we update this page and the date at the top. When the change is significant, we announce it through our usual channels.
